Mavis Tire is a leader in the automotive service industry and is in search of a highly motivated, detail-oriented DevOps Engineer to support our on-prem and cloud infrastructure out of our headquarters in White Plains, NY.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving our infrastructure automation, optimizing our development processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines across cloud and on-premises environments. They should also be skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), SQL as Code, with a focus on integrating security best practices throughout the development lifecycle. They will also have experience managing Azure resources.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software releases and infrastructure changes, integrating security testing and compliance checks.
- Develop and maintain SQL deployment and management processes using SQL as Code methodologies
- Design, implement, and manage our Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, ensuring adherence to security policies and standards
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all environments.
- Manage and administer Azure resources, including function apps, app service plans, API gateways, key vaults, storage, networking, etc.
- Automate routine tasks and processes to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies, including DevSecOps methodologies, and drive their adoption within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and ARM Templates.
- Experience with SQL as Code tools and practices (e.g., using tools like Flyway, Liquibase, or SSDT for database deployments).
- Solid experience managing and administering Microsoft Azure resources.
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Hands-on experience with the concepts and tools mentioned in this posting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Datadog).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with Kafka and/or Red Panda.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Experience with unit testing development.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps methodologies and security best practices.
- Knowledge of security tools and techniques (e.g., SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanning).
