Job DescriptionWe are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable Associates to oversee and process payments efficiently.
• Review credit card expense reports, prepare detailed journal entries, and upload them into the general ledger system.
• Analyze the General Ledger regularly, focusing on Accounts Payable, and resolve discrepancies with the support of the Director of Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
• Assist finance and program staff with payment processing and reconciliation tasks.
• Maintain organized accounts payable schedules and provide necessary documentation for funders and annual audits.
• Participate in additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level is essential.
• At least 1-2 years of accounting experience, including one year in the non-profit sector, is required.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and analytical abilities are necessary.
• Familiarity with Intacct software and other accounting tools is preferred.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying deadlines and work schedules is required.
