Founding Account Manager | Mid-Market

The Role
As the Founding Mid-Market Account Manager, you’ll be the first hire focused exclusively on growing and managing our mid-market customer base. You’ll oversee a book of 100+ accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for strategic client relationships. We are growing 2x YoY, with minimal churn and a raving customer base.
Your mandate is twofold:
- Drive net revenue retention through consultative upselling, cross-selling, and value expansion
- Build repeatable processes that scale account management and client success in a high-growth, early-stage environment
This is a highly cross-functional role where you’ll partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Support. You’ll also design and lead programs like QBRs, adoption campaigns, and onboarding processes.
What You'll Do
Own and grow a portfolio of 100+ mid-market accounts, ensuring adoption, retention, and revenue expansion
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Growth, Digital, and CX) across CPG and retail brands
- Identify and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned to client goals and product usage
- Run quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with top accounts to influence strategic roadmaps and identify growth areas
- Drive improvements in NRR, churn prevention, and customer lifetime value
- Collaborate with Product to deliver feedback and advocate for customer needs
- Design and implement foundational AM processes, including onboarding flows, customer journeys, and revenue playbooks
- Leverage AI tooling and automation to streamline touchpoints and improve client engagement
Who You Are
You’re a strong fit for this role if you have:
- 3–5 years of experience in account management, sales or customer success in a B2B SaaS startup
- Proven success managing multiple accounts and executing expansion-focused strategies
- A commercial mindset—you’re comfortable with revenue targets, carrying a quota and love driving impact
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders
- A strategic thinker who can diagnose client needs and shape tailored solutions
- A builder who thrives in ambiguity and can create structure where none exists
- Highly organized, autonomous, and motivated by ownership
- Familiarity with CRM and automation tools like HubSpot, Clay, Apollo, and Sales Navigator
