We are a well-established, sixty-year-old, growing automotive dealership group with four locations seeking an automotive experienced office manager/full-charge bookkeeper to over daily accounting operations, manage payroll processes, ensure tax compliance, and handle HR functions. The ideal candidate is ready to take the next step and grow with our company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DCS communications with manufacturers: posting and reconciling daily. Booking all vehicle transactions. Vehicle payoffs new, pre-owned, and trade-ins. Posting/reconciling contract funding. Reconciling schedules and correcting/verifying discrepancies. Payroll input, set up, and reconciliations. Posting payroll to books. Posting 401K. Responsibility for HR functions: Hiring paperwork, terminations, and policy enforcement. Administer employee benefits, workers' comp, and wage garnishments. Responsibility for all insurance: Garage Keepers Liability, Workers' Compensation, disability, and company sponsored health insurance. Produce monthly financial statements and send to franchises and floor plan sources monthly and in a timely fashion. Submit and account for coop advertising. File sales tax and returns for New York and New Jersey on a regular basis. Review and submit Luxury Tax, Tire Waste Tax, and Excise Tax returns. Manage daily accounting operations across four dealership locations. Coordinate year-end tax preparation with external CPA firm. Supervise and review work of accounting and office administration support staff. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and dealership procedures. Support/plan internal audits and process improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ YEARS OF PROGRESSIVE ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE WITH A MINIMUM OF (2) YEARS AUTOMOTIVE.
ABILITY TO MANAGE STAFF.
MINIMUM ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING.
