Office Assistant
Part-Time (14 Hours Per Week/Flexible Weekdays)

Office Assistant Summary:
WIHD is seeking a part-time Office Assistant to perform a wide variety of clerical support for an outpatient Dental clinic in Valhalla, NY. The Office Assistant hours are 14 per week and flexible, morning preferred. Ability to carry out complex verbal and written directions; ability to get along well with others; thorough; good judgment; and dependable.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains accurate and complete records and files.
- Schedules and confirms patient appointments. Check patients in and signs them out, assuring they have a follow up appointments as per noted next visit in progress notes.
- Provides general administrative support services to enhance the operation of the office to which the incumbent is assigned. Including coordination of Touro student rotations.
- Answers telephone calls and either independently handles requests for routine information or routes calls to appropriate staff.
- Opens, screens and routes mail.
- Operates a wide variety of office machines, including fax machine, copier, etc.
Office Assistant Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of office procedures, equipment and business English; knowledge of the ability to comprehend written material; ability to operate office machines; ability to maintain complex records and files.
- Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and 1 year of experience where the primary function of the position was performing general office/clerical work.
