Sales Manager – Industrial & Heavy-Duty Truck Markets


Our client, a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of brass fittings, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead their sales team and drive customer engagement. Founded in 1946, the company specializes in industrial fittings used in heavy-duty trucks, industrial applications, plumbing, and HVAC, with a strong customer base of independent distributors and wholesalers.


Position Overview:

This is a hands-on, traveling role where the Sales Manager will spend 50% of their time visiting clients and re-engaging with existing customers. The right candidate will be responsible for reassembling and managing the sales force, strengthening relationships with key accounts, and expanding market share. The role requires a balance of strategic leadership and direct sales engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and rebuild the sales team, providing leadership and direction.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, ensuring continued engagement.
  • Conduct regular client visits (50% travel), especially in the Northeast or Southeast regions.
  • Re-engage with sales reps and oversee account management.
  • Develop strategies to compete with major Midwest-based competitors.
  • Leverage strong tech skills to analyze sales data and improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and common-sense decision-making to prioritize urgent matters effectively.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial or heavy-duty truck markets preferred.
  • Regional Sales Manager experience looking to take the next step is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on sales involvement.
  • Comfortable with hybrid work (1-2 days in the office).


Compensation & Benefits:

  • $100K-$125K base salary (negotiable for the right candidate) + bonus.
