Job DescriptionSourcebooks, the fastest-growing book publisher in the U.S., is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of our calendar and general merchandise product lines. In this strategic role, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams — including design, production, marketing, and sales — to guide products from concept to market. You’ll oversee complex timelines, champion quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across processes to ensure we deliver exceptional, high-impact products to readers and consumers.
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule at our offices in Naperville, IL or New York, NY or you can work 100% remotely from the following states: Illinois, Arizona, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.
This is an exempt, salaried position with an annual salary between $100,000 and $125,000. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
What you'll do:
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for the calendar and general merchandise product lines.
- Coordinate with design, production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.
- Monitor project timelines, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Work closely with the inventory planning, demand forecasting, and replenishment teams to ensure accurate inventory needs.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders, providing clear reports and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the product line.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to enhance product offerings.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in project management, merchandising, publishing or related field.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP or other project management certification
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of retail trends, product development cycles, and supply chain logistics.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with ERP and inventory management systems.
