The Laundromutt is on a mission to improve & enrich the lives of dogs through grooming, our self service wash, and even a little retail therapy. We take care of every dog that comes through our doors regardless of size or breed and provide both our pups and clients a one-on-one experience as soon as they step into the salon. Our team is a close-knit group with a passion for growing and learning, both professionally and personally.
We are looking to bring on a team member to assist the salon with reception, self service, and washing dogs. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a very fast paced environment, who values being a part of a team, and is both comfortable and has professional experience working with dogs. We value safety, team work with clear & transparent communication, continued education, and above all we love dogs. We are offering a part time position of about 20 hours per week and looking for a flexible schedule with weekend availability.
The primary function of this position is to serve our customers and the functioning of the salon by answering phones, booking appointments, bathing and prepping dogs for grooming, and helping self service clients. Additionally, this position is responsible for keeping the salon clean and organized.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to practice safe handling of animals
- Ability to identify signs of stress and aggression in dogs
- Correctly and accurately bathing and drying dogs
- Hand drying and prepping dogs for grooming including brushing out, nail trimming and filing, anal gland expression, teeth cleaning, and ear cleaning
- Completing a full smooth coat bath service
- Reception, greeting & cashing out clients
- Practicing compassionate customer service
- Scheduling appointments
- Helping self service clients
- General Cleaning of the salon
- Ability to use excel basic functions
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to read, write, and basic math skills
- Ability to to follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
- Ability to withstand loud noises for a long period of time
- Ability to clearly communicate with clients, team members, and managers
- Comfortable working with dogs
- Ability to correctly handle cash and credit card transactions
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working with dogs in a professional settingMust love dogs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age
- General computer skills
Pay
- $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
