Overview:
Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, is responsible for processing real estate lending applications. Establishes loan files and orders documentation required to process loans. Is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs data entry of real estate lending applications in loan origination system.
- Places welcome call and issue Welcome letter/email with disclosures to the borrower informing them of required documentation needed and perform a thorough review of the loan scenario in its entirety, including any closing costs.
- Reviews file for further processing, such as ordering a credit report on the borrower(s), requesting a property appraisal, flood certification, title insurance when applicable, etc.
- Inputs and updates data into loan origination systems and assures adequate file integrity. Generates and/or ensures timely generation of all required documentation and processing disclosures.
- Checks all documents when they are received.
- Performs frequent follow-up to ensure timely processing.
- Request income documents
- Calculate and verify member income
- Contacts members and others to obtain any other necessary information.
- Completes the loan profile (document check lists)
- Interacts with assigned Mortgage Loan Officer, Underwriter, member and Closer to resolve any file discrepancies
- Reviews entire file for accuracy and compliance and submits to Underwriter for review.
- Updates all communications with members in the loan origination system.
- Orders any additional documentation/reports on loans approved by the underwriter.
- Forward conditions received to underwriter for review and clearance
- Ensure all documentation received is scanned and uploaded into the loan origination system
- Manages member contact, keeping members apprised of loan status throughout the process and proactively follows up to obtain outstanding documentation
- Schedule loan closings with borrowers.
- Maintains integrity and privacy of all member data.
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable real estate lending regulations, including, but not limited to HOEPA, REG Z, REG B, TRID
- Performs other duties as assigned within mortgage and home equity.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent to prepare reports and deal effectively with people.
- Two years real estate lending processing experience
- The interpersonal skills necessary to gather data from a number of sources and to represent positively the credit union during such contacts.
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
