Our client has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator/Engineer to join their team in Brooklyn, NY.
System Admin and Engineer:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation, reliability, and integrity of the enterprise Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment. This includes the installation, maintenance, and management of physical and virtual servers, backup systems, and application servers
- Microsoft Windows Server OS configuration changes to meet requirements of new and existing applications, web servers, database servers, etc.
- Systems interruptions, failures, and outage troubleshooting, remediation, and root cause analysis
- Administration of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Azure, and AWS environment
- Microsoft Active Directory administration including, but not limited to:
- User/Security Group management
- Group Policy administration
- DHCP and DNS administration
- Windows file server administration including permissions, sharing, and mapping
- Configuration and support of Office 365 environment
- Mobile device management administration in Intune and other MDM platforms
- Physical server/rackmount equipment rack and stack when necessary
- Identify and communicate technical findings in continuous improvement efforts and recommend changes to implement and maintain best practices
- Documentation generation and maintenance for configuration processes and procedures
- Facilitate and collaborate on new and ongoing IT projects and initiatives with professional services and on-premises team
- Act as tier 2/3 escalation point for tier 1support escalations and on-site requirements
- Work with partners, clients, and resellers with existing and new relationships to communicate for purposes of license renewal, certificate generation, product purchases, application administration, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience
- Four or more years working on Microsoft servers and workstations. MCSA or MCSE in relevant specialty preferred
- Four or more years experience managing, supporting, and deploying VMware vSphere infrastructure. VCP preferred
- 4 or more years' experience managing, supporting, and deploying Microsoft Azure environment resources
- Intermediate/advanced Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange administration
- Experience in Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies
- Advanced Microsoft Active Directory expertise
- Advanced Microsoft Windows Server and client operating system expertise
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Formerly SCCM) expertise
- Microsoft Intune experience for mobile device management
- Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge
- Basic understanding of power distribution equipment such as UPS', PDUs, PSUs, and power circuits
- Basic Linux server administration familiarity
- Basic network technology experience including subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall settings
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
