BizTek People is in search of an experienced Credit Portfolio Management & Monitoring professional for our client in NYC!

About the Team
The Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) team is responsible for managing enterprise credit risk across the Commercial and Investment Banking business. The team sets firm-wide Risk Appetite and leads efforts in portfolio stress testing, concentration risk management, emerging risk identification, and in-depth industry and sector credit analysis. CPM supports sound credit decision-making through the use of tools and market indicators that facilitate proactive risk monitoring.

  • Industry Research

Position Summary
We are seeking a candidate to support the risk management of a wholesale lending portfolio. This role will play a key part in monitoring and analyzing credit risk exposure across sectors and obligors, helping drive strategic credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proactive monitoring of obligors and sectors using various market indicators to support credit decisions for a diverse client portfolio
  • Monitor daily market indicators such as CDS spreads and equity pricing, along with other metrics to inform rating actions or flag concerns for deeper analysis
  • Demonstrate strong credit judgment and effective risk monitoring while collaborating across business lines and credit risk teams
  • Prepare and update monthly reports identifying portfolio trends and highlighting emerging risks for senior management and board-level review
  • Analyze market and vendor data, identify and escalate discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy
  • Partner with the reporting team to design and execute key credit risk management and portfolio reporting initiatives
  • Maintain data linkages to external market sources, and identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and improved technology
  • Support documentation of in-scope processes and testing of key controls aligned with portfolio credit risk goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or CFA designation is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Credit Risk Management
  • Solid understanding of credit risk concepts, including Probability of Default and Loss Given Default
  • Familiarity with credit risk platforms such as Moody’s Analytics, Credit Benchmark, or similar tools
  • Strong skills in handling and enriching large, complex data sets
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau, and Bloomberg
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and quantitative abilities, and capable of synthesizing complex information quickly
