Job Description

Overview:

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and sustainability across operations. The EHS Manager will partner with leadership, supervisors, and employees to proactively identify risks, reduce incidents, and support overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and maintain all EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees and leadership to promote awareness and engagement
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, preparing reports for leadership and regulatory agencies
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to integrate EHS considerations into daily operations, new projects, and process changes
  • Ensure proper waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives are implemented and tracked
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and training exercises
  • Supervise and mentor EHS staff or safety committee members (if applicable)
  • Stay current on EHS regulations, best practices, and industry trends to ensure compliance and continuous improvement


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and ISO standards
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.) preferred
  • Proven ability to lead EHS initiatives, influence teams, and build a strong safety culture
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
