$23 hourly (no benefits)
PartTime: Sundays - 8:30am to 4:30pm
Monday to Thursday - 3:00pm to 7:00pm
Position Summary:
The Vision Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients entering the Vision Department. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient patient flow and providing excellent service at the front desk. Responsibilities include appointment coordination, insurance verification, and ensuring an organized and welcoming reception area.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations:

Verify insurance coverage prior to scheduled appointments
-
Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information and collecting co-pays or payments

Check out patients after their visit, schedule follow-up appointments, and set recall reminders as needed
Scheduling & Communication:

Place reminder calls two days prior to each scheduled vision appointment

Answer incoming calls professionally and schedule or reschedule appointments as needed

At the end of each week, follow up with patients who missed or canceled appointments to reschedule
Patient Experience & Department Support:

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting area

Alert the Vision Coordinator to any issues, concerns, or patient complaints
-
Provide general assistance to support patient satisfaction and departmental efficiency
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Prior experience in a medical office or patient-facing administrative role preferred
-
Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
-
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting

Familiarity with insurance verification and appointment scheduling systems a plus
