Clever Devices is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Business Continuity Engineer to join our team. The Business Continuity Engineer will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring the organization's ability to recover from disruptions and maintain essential operations.
The Business Continuity Engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of business continuity and disaster recovery planning. This role involves assessing risks, designing recovery strategies, implementing technical solutions, conducting testing and exercises, and providing ongoing support to ensure the resilience of the organization's IT infrastructure and critical business processes.
Responsibilities:
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Maintain comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including procedures for data backup and recovery, system restoration, and alternate site operations.
- Implement technical solutions to support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
Technical Implementation & Maintenance:
- Implement and manage disaster recovery technologies, such as replication, failover, and backup solutions.
- Configure and maintain alternate site infrastructure and resources.
- Monitor and manage the performance and availability of disaster recovery systems.
- Maintain and update documentation of all business continuity and disaster recovery systems.
Testing & Exercises:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct regular testing and exercises of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified gaps.
- Document all testing procedures and results.
Incident Response & Recovery:
- Participate in incident response and recovery efforts during actual disruptions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to business units during recovery operations.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and identify lessons learned.
Communication & Training:
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders on the status of business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Participate in internal and external audits of business continuity and disaster recovery programs.
- Provide documentation for audits.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or IT infrastructure.
- Understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery principles and methodologies.
- Experience with disaster recovery technologies, such as replication, failover, and backup solutions preferred.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and databases.
- Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work some overnights and weekends as necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with Zerto, VMware, Veeam and Azure.

The compensation range posted for this position represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The exact compensation offered will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, training, education and/or physical location; internal equity; and, budget.
