Job DescriptionDescription:

The Sr. Accountant supports Frost Valley’s finance and business operations by ensuring accurate accounting and reporting. Reporting to the CFO, this role handles all weekly accounts payable, assists in budget development, oversees accounting functions, and supports the year-end audit.


What You’ll Do:

  • Accounts Payable Management: Perform all aspects of the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and weekly check preparation based on due dates.
  • Daily Transactions & Reconciliation: Reconcile daily payments and receipts from all departments, post deposits into the accounting system, and ensure accuracy across records.
  • Credit Card Oversight: Manage company-issued credit cards, including account setup and closure; post monthly transactions to appropriate department expense accounts.
  • Petty Cash Management: Manage and reconcile petty cash funds for the camp store and summer program directors.
  • Vendor Account Reconciliation: Reconcile, research, and resolve discrepancies in vendor accounts promptly.
  • Records & Reporting: Maintain organized financial records and prepare internal and external reports, including those required by federal and state agencies.
  • Filing & Documentation: Maintain an efficient filing system for vendor invoices, contracts, and business documents.
  • Policy Communication: Understand and communicate accounting policies and procedures to support CFO and departmental staff.
  • Closing Processes: Assist with month-end and year-end closings, ensuring accurate financial data.
  • Budget Support: Assist the CFO with the annual budgeting process and financial planning.
  • System Assistance: Support staff with Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software functions.

Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned in support of the Finance Depart

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience,
  • Knowledge of, and expertise with, computerized accounting systems and standard business software
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft/Google Suite (i.e. Pivot table and VLOOKup)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of confidentiality required
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.


Nice to Have:

Non-profit experience is a plus.
