Job DescriptionSalary: $21.68

BASIC FUNCTION:


The incumbent provides community outreach, education, training and brief intervention services focused on preventing early substance misuse and suicide.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILTY:


  1. Assess communitys existing needs and programs to determine best services delivery approach.
  2. Provide prevention education to youth, families and community.
  3. Facilitate SafeTalk and ASIST trainings scheduled per department supervisor or by request to employees, individuals, departments, groups, organizations, or agencies.
  4. Provide intervention services related to substance use and suicide for youth including evidence-based practices.
  5. Collaborate with internal Seneca nation programs and external organizations such as but not limited to schools and community / recreational centers.
  6. Must be able to successfully clear all schools fingerprint background investigations.
  7. Conduct themselves in a professional and cooperative manner to ensure high quality services for individuals and families.
  8. Attend all mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and in-services.
  9. Provide coverage for other prevention specialists located at the same or opposite territories as needed per the request of the supervisor and/or director.
  10. Travel between both territories may be required. This can include travel during inclement weather.
  11. Follow all established polices of The Seneca Nation Health System/Seneca Nation.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned or requested appropriate to position.



QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills including word, excel, power point for presenting, reporting, and coordination purposes. Prior experience with public speaking, conducting groups and trainings, and planning

community events.
