Position Summary:
The Account Manager – East Region is responsible for managing a portfolio of small to mid-tier client accounts, generating new business, and serving as a key liaison between clients and internal teams across Certified Group. This individual plays a critical role in qualifying leads, maintaining client satisfaction, and supporting revenue growth. The position requires strong relationship-building skills, business acumen, and an understanding of laboratory testing services for the food and beverage industry.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow assigned accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for clients in the East Region.
- Qualify and assign inbound sales leads; identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals as defined by the sales leadership team.
- Provide clients with technical and service-related information regarding laboratory testing, turnaround times, methods, pricing, and results.
- Collaborate with marketing, client services, and laboratory teams to support client needs and ensure a high level of service delivery.
- Develop and execute account plans to grow existing relationships and expand service offerings.
- Handle service agreements, client onboarding, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals.
- Accurately track activities and communications in Salesforce CRM.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Stay current on food safety regulations and industry trends (e.g., FSMA, FDA, USDA).
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and regional tradeshows as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in account management or sales role.
- Proven experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Prior experience in the laboratory services, food safety, or related industries.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
