Job DescriptionDescriptionDepartment: LIRRLocation: Hillside Support Facility 99-59 183rd Street Hollis NY 11423Position Title: Railroad Program Support- Structures, Emerging Talent InternHourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate) OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:Railroad Program Support is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, quality, and safety of LIRR In-House Force Account crafts and projects. Our department goal is to manage critical infrastructure assets to maintain operating conditions which include safety, reliability, efficiency, longevity, and customer service. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the development of Force Account(F/A) scope
- Assist in developing and reviewing F/A estimate and schedule in line with project scope.
- Process project submittals and deliverables.
- Support the development of project summaries reporting for upper management.
- Coordinate the monitoring of Project Cost, Schedule, and Estimate.
- Support the review and validation of F/A and supporting vendors transmittals invoices.
- Assist on-site field visit, reporting and coordinating between various departments.
- Developing progress, projects, and coordination meeting agendas.
Preparing meeting minutes
PROJECTS:
- Viaduct expansion, joint repairs and waterproofing.
- Station building rehabilitation (Roofs, floors/windows interior/exterior work, ramps/stairs and platforms).
- Expansion and fixed bearing replacements for pedestrian bridges that connect station platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player. REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPAMajor(s) Preferred: Finance, Business Administration, Financial Analysis, Engineering, or related field.
