Assistant Project Manager
- Salary: Up to $90,000 per year
- Location: Garden City, New York
A leading New York–based construction firm is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager with strong experience in commercial sitework, hardscaping or landscaping construction. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile residential and commercial projects, supporting Project Managers to deliver complex jobs involving paving, concrete, grading, drainage, and landscape construction.
Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers in coordinating all phases of sitework and landscaping projects

Support scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking across multiple active jobs

Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accuracy

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to maintain project timelines

Monitor field operations including paving, demolition, excavation, grading, and drainage installations

Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are upheld

Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, and project documentation

Manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to site
Experience & Requirements

2–5 years of experience in construction management, ideally within sitework, paving, concrete, excavation, or drainage projects

Hands-on knowledge of exterior construction methods and sequencing

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, and construction documents

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to project management software a plus

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
