DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Financial Reporting
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

JOB FUNCTIONS/SUMMARY

The City Bar is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Finance team. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments weekly. The accounting clerk will provide support and assistance with month-end closing activities and other accounting work.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Review invoices for accuracy and match to the purchase order, contracts or documentation

  • Verify general ledger account codes as assigned and appropriate sales and use tax compliance

  • Process AvidInbox invoices, review and re-route to the correct workflows for approval

  • Synchronize Avid batches to Great Plains and process check payments in Great Plains to AvidPay

  • Download invoices and make online payments for certain vendors

  • Maintain vendor setup in Great Plains and AvidXchange

  • Verify employee expense reports and receipts for accuracy before processing for payment

  • Contact vendors and staff members when necessary

  • Resolve, modify or correct, issues related to payment of invoices

  • Accrue open invoices at month end, if necessary

  • Reconcile accounts payable balances

  • Download monthly Higher Logic usage reports for CLE and Membership departments

  • Prepare and E-file 1099NEC for independent contractors

  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL & REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in accounting, preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, with a strong understanding of 3rd party systems.

  • Ability to analyze discrepancies and reconcile accounts.

  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in accounting ERPs, Great Plains and AvidXchange preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Starting salary for this role is $50,000 to $53,000 (based on experience) for a 35-hour work week.
