JOB SUMMARY
Distributes patient menus, meals and nourishment; provides customer service in cafeteria; prepares and serves foods; cashier duties; cooking and assisting with meal preparation. Also, performs ware-washing, pot & pan washing, general sanitation and food and supply storage
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Performs menu and diet procedures to insure patients receive appropriate foods at meal times.
2. Assembles patient trays and nourishments for patients as required
3. Prepares and cooks food for patients and cafeteria patrons
4. Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with DOH accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including code of conduct
5. Clean and sanitize all work areas when used or as assigned
6. Performs service and short-order work for the cafeteria and Cashiering as required
7. Fills requisitions for patient pantry stock as requested.
8. Completes meeting special function set-ups as requisitioned
9. Answers and directs phone calls in the Dietary Dept.
10. Occasionally works special functions as assigned

Hours: Per Diem, Various Shifts
Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High School or Equivalent and 1 year in commercial food service
Preferred:
- 2+ years of related experience
EDUCATION
- High School or equivalent Vocational/Specialized Training
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- ServSafe preferred
