THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant. The role will be responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting external audits. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a deep understanding of GAAP and financial operations.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
- On a monthly basis, close the books in accordance with GAAP in 10 business days. This includes Journal Entry review/approval, review of high-risk areas and management estimates, and account reconciliation review/approval.
- Maintain monthly review workpapers and other month end reconciliations.
- Prepare month end drug P&L’s and perform month end analysis on a drug-by-drug basis.
- Analyze financial data and present insights to management.
- Assist FP&A with budget preparation.
- Prepare and assist in month end financial statement analysis.
- Adhoc projects for Director of Accounting and the Assistant Controller as needed.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Assist with annual audit and financial statement preparation.
- Assist with annual tax engagements.
- Prepare tax and tax related reporting including Sales Tax returns and 1099 reporting.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Meets month-end and annual deadlines as set by the accounting close calendar.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant in state of NY
- In depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
- 5+ years’ experience in public accounting and/or mix of healthcare accounting
- Ability to multi‐task, prioritize and maintain a high level of organization with a drive to solve problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, responsive and timely communicator team members
- Professional demeanor and conduct, exercises good judgment and represents the Company with integrity
- Proficiency in excel
- Plus
- Experience with ERP such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite (implementation experience is a plus)
- Public accounting experience
