The Role

Aquarian is seeking an exceptional Associate to join the Aquarian Private Credit team. Aquarian Private Credit primarily focuses on lending to corporate borrowers across a wide range of sizes and industries.

The Associate will report to the Principal of the Aquarian Private Credit team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in private credit or related fields, and a passion for evaluating and managing complex investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, modeling, and valuation of private credit opportunities.
  • Perform due diligence on prospective borrowers, including market analysis, financial reviews, and qualitative risk assessment.
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments, including financial and operational metrics.
  • Prepare periodic reporting for internal stakeholders and external investors.
  • Work with senior team members to identify opportunities for proactive refinancings and other business development activities.
  • Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of loan agreements and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operational teams to ensure smooth transaction closings.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and macroeconomic factors affecting private credit investments.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the firm's investment strategies.
  • Assist in preparing investor presentations and updates.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with clients and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in private credit, investment banking, leveraged finance, or related roles.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant financial tools.
  • Knowledge of private credit markets, deal structuring, and credit risk analysis is highly desirable.
