Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Hornell, New York. This is a long-term contract position that involves supporting budgetary analysis and financial operations to ensure strategic goals are achieved. The role requires strong analytical abilities, proficiency in financial systems, and a commitment to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze, prepare, and monitor budgets to align with organizational financial objectives.
• Collaborate with departments to forecast and allocate resources effectively.
• Perform variance analyses to identify discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
• Generate detailed financial reports to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
• Provide technical support and training for financial tools and systems.
• Assist in creating projections for revenue and expenses to inform planning.
• Maintain datasets related to staffing, enrollment, expenses, and other financial indicators.
• Develop ad hoc reports and analyses to address specific organizational needs.
• Support the integration and optimization of financial systems and tools.• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience in variance analysis and account reconciliation.
• Preferred: Familiarity with higher education budgeting processes or financial system implementations.
