Job Title: Engagement Specialist
Location: Bronx (Hunts Point)
Compensation: $45,000 to $50,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday either 8:30-4:30pm or 9-5pm (per coverage needs), in-office

Purpose: A socially conscious company is seeking an Engagement Specialist to provide orientation and intake services to public assistance recipients in an employment services program in Bronx, NYC. The ideal candidate can build rapport with diverse individuals, comfortable facilitating individual and group workshops, and is detail-oriented.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily orientation and intake sessions with incoming clients referred by the Human Resources Administration (HRA)
  • Present on program requirements and expectations
  • Administer TABE testing
  • Ensure completion of timely case notes to record service delivery, including assessments, intakes, goals, referrals, etc.
  • Complete timekeeping responsibilities
  • Scan and upload client documentation
  • Participate in daily meetings/check-ins with program management team
  • Provide administrative support to other departments or members of management, including but not limited to data entry and case management tasks
  • Maintain detailed case notes, update attendance logs, submit weekly reports, and other administrative tasks on a timely basis
  • Model professionalism and inclusiveness, cultivate a safe environment for career development, and motivated clients to find full-time employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-year degree required
  • Experience working with low-income and underserved populations, especially in a workforce development, social services, or community-based context
  • Experience facilitating trainings or workshops
  • Spanish speaking language skills a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred
  • Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
  • Experience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness
