We're building our project team in White Plains, seeking a licensed Associate.
Our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, and multi-family; focus on industrial and commercial (office, high rise multifamily) structure. An Associate is responsible for understanding all aspects of a project relative to its scope, technical accuracy, potential risk, and client requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture • Minimum 5 years' industry related experience • Technical level understanding of most building types • Thorough understanding of construction processes, activities and scheduling • Construction administration experience, construction contract types and forms • Solid understanding of building materials and methods and the technical aspects of building enclosures, structures, and systems • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus • Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Box or equivalent • High-level organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills
Essential Functions
• Act as a technical team member and small project lead • Collaborate within a Marx|Okubo project team, using your strong technical knowledge in building envelope reviews and evaluations in building design construction, and post-occupancy • Build rapport with the client, internal team, consultants and site contact • Learn and convey and overall understanding of the clients' project(s) • Review and analyze building construction and condition, perform building evaluations on existing and new construction • Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets • Prepare formal reports • Travel to client sites and office as needed
