Job Summary
As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all culinary operations within the Food & Nutrition Services department. This includes leading a team of associates, ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation standards, and delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused culinary service.
This role supports a 150‑bed acute care hospital in Queens, NY, which is part of a large, established health system. The operation includes oversight of Patient Dining, Catering Services, Inventory Management, Ordering, Payroll, Scheduling, and Labor Relations.
You will be part of a 4‑person management team leading approximately 30 union employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all culinary operations for the account, including patient dining and catering.
- Manage food and labor cost controls to meet financial targets.
- Plan, develop, and execute all menus with a focus on quality, nutrition, and consistency.
- Purchase and manage inventory while maintaining accurate par levels.
- Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and the broader culinary team.
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of culinary management experience, ideally within healthcare or high‑volume foodservice.
- Strong background in large‑scale production and catering.
- Demonstrated experience managing cost controls and achieving budget goals.
- Interest in professional growth and development within a leading foodservice organization.
