Location: New York City or Long Island, NY
Job Type: Full-Time

A mid-sized CPA and business consulting firm with offices in New York City and Long Island is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join its growing team. The firm serves clients across a variety of industries and is committed to providing professional development, mentorship, and a balanced work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit engagements from start to finish for clients in various industries.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop audit plans.
  • Review audit workpapers for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures.
  • Prepare organized and clear audit documentation.
  • Communicate findings and progress to managers and clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as the main contact during engagements.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • CPA license or progress toward certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of public accounting experience, primarily in audit.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and auditing standards.
  • Proven ability to manage audit engagements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
