Five Iron Golf (5i) is the country's biggest indoor golf company with soon to be 30 locations across the United States. 5i is not your traditional country club. We aspire to establish a casual, relaxed environment for golfers and non-golfers alike. We are a fun and growing company with an urban vibe. We offer indoor golf simulation, lessons, golf fittings, events, and food and beverage service.

As we expand, we are looking for team-oriented employees who help continue our most important tradition: providing outstanding customer service.


We are seeking a National Director of Instruction to lead and evolve the performance side of our coaching program. This individual will be directly responsible for overseeing all golf coaches across the organization and will serve as the central leader for our lessons and fittings business- including without limitation- recruiting, training, employee development, program innovation, and instructional excellence at Five Iron.

Our coaches utilize top-tier technology including TrackMan, video analysis, and launch monitors to help players of all skill levels, from beginners to die-hards, achieve their goals in a dynamic environment. The National Director of Instruction will ensure our instructional offerings remain best-in-class, consistent, scalable, and aligned with Five Iron’s mission.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Coach Oversight & Performance
    • Manage and support all Five Iron golf coaches across all locations
    • Monitor coach performance, satisfaction, and revenue generation
    • Lead and evolve incentive and accountability systems for coaching staff
    • Analyze and report on key metrics to evaluate business impact of coaching operations
  • Training & Development
    • Own the training of all new coaches, with the ability to delegate to regional Directors of Instruction as needed
    • Develop and maintain a scalable coach development framework
    • Introduce continuing education, mentorships, and certifications
    • Help build a national coach community rooted in collaboration and growth
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Liaise with corporate departments (marketing, ops, tech, HR, C-suite) to align coaching initiatives with company strategy
  • Coach Hiring & Talent Identification
    • Work closely with the Performance Recruiting Manager in evaluation, and selection of new golf coaches
    • Evaluate, enhance and define compensation breakdowns and incentive programs for coaches
  • Revenue & Expense Oversight
    • Monitor lesson revenue, P&L of coaching programs, and support budget planning
    • Explore pricing strategies, product bundling, and lesson optimization for revenue growth
    • Financial and operating metrics mastery
  • Program & Curriculum Design
    • Design and roll out comprehensive player development programs
      Standardize lesson structures and philosophies across locations
    • Introduce new formats, clinics, or scalable instructional products
    • Experience working with systems and building processes to work to scale
  • Compensation setting and monitoring
    • COGS management, Compensation, and tracking

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in golf instruction, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
  • Deep familiarity with technology-based coaching (TrackMan, video, launch monitors)
  • Proven ability to lead large or multi-location instructional teams
  • Excellent communicator and capable of cross-departmental collaboration
  • Passion for teaching golfers of all levels in a fun, inclusive environment
    Ability to travel regularly to Five Iron locations
