Work arrangement: Onsite
Location: Syracuse, NY
Position Type: Contract (W-2 only). No C2C or 1099
Duration: 6-months (1,040 hours)

Position Overview:
The client is seeking a dedicated Scrum Master I to serve as a servant-leader and mentor to a cross-functional Agile team. This role is responsible for driving Agile best practices, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, resolving impediments, and fostering an environment of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP to lead a high-performing cross-functional team.
- Facilitate team ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, team self-organization, and cross-functionality.
- Encourage effective Agile practices like user stories, TDD, ATDD, pairing, and information radiators.
- Help teams visualize and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Remove impediments beyond the teams authority and escalate where necessary.
- Collaborate with other Agile leaders to improve Agile adoption and consistency.
- Support learning opportunities through communities of practice, conferences, meetups, and training.
- Ensure compliance with the clients risk and regulatory standards and internal controls.
- Champion diversity and uphold professional internal control standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct reports; leads through influence, accountability, and ownership in an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of experience as a member of an Agile team, including 1+ years as a Scrum Master;
OR - A combined 6 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience, including at least 2 years on an Agile team and 1+ years as a Scrum Master.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience fostering team self-organization and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and frameworks.
- Experience with digital product development or digital capability management.
- Understanding of Design Thinking principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead through influence in dynamic environments.

- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
