Are you a financial expert with a passion for driving operational excellence? Join our Managed Service Organization (MSO) as the Director of Accounting and take the lead on multi-entity financial reporting, compliance, and strategic oversight across a dynamic healthcare environment.
Salary: $150,000–$165,000 annually, based on experience
Bonus: Eligible for a $15,000 annual bonus
Position Summary:
The Director of Accounting is a key leadership role within the Finance department, responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for all of the MSO entities. This position manages a team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The Director, Accounting collaborates closely with the VP of Finance to drive financial integrity, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across all organizations under the MSO umbrella.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions for MSO entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple business units.
- Coordinate and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all MSO entities.
- Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across all MSO and entity operations.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure operational consistency.
- Responsible for overseeing accounts payable & non EMR receivables functions
- Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure proper reconciliation and documentation across entities.
- Manage external audits and relationships with auditors.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools to support scalability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.
- Support the VP of FP&A through consolidated reporting, to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Support identifying patterns in spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas. Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial practices with business objectives and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA certification required
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multi-entity operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop high-performing teams
- Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Strong understanding of MSO structures, healthcare finance, or professional services organizations is highly desirable
Other Information:
- This position will be based in Latham, NY.
- This is an “in office” position in a safe work environment. Periodic work from home flexibility is accommodated.
- Position is fast paced and may require more than 40 hours a week periodically.
