Housekeeping Assistant - Full Time
Hultquist Place Assisted Living Facility

Supervisor: Environmental Services Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Non-Exempt
Shift: 1st Shift (6am-2pm) with Rotating Weekends
Salary Range: $15.50 – $19.63 per hour

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment for residents, staff, and visitors at Hultquist Place. This role involves routine and corrective cleaning procedures to ensure a sanitary and welcoming setting.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in institutional cleaning is preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Collect and prepare equipment and supplies for daily tasks
  • Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks, including:
    • Buffing floors and maintaining buffing schedule
    • Carpet and upholstery cleaning
    • AM freshening in all resident rooms
    • 10-step cleaning process
    • Terminal cleaning and turnover room preparation
  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces including handrails and lifts
  • Wash walls, ceilings, vents, lighting fixtures, windows, floors, and furniture
  • Move and clean equipment and furniture as needed
  • Change privacy curtains quarterly and between residents
  • Clean stairwells, elevators, and baseboards
  • Perform high dusting and damp mopping in assigned areas
  • Wash beds and mattresses
  • Maintain clean and organized utility and storage areas (no food or drink allowed)
  • Properly mix and use cleaning chemicals using basic math skills
  • Respond to resident requests and maintain professional interactions
  • Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Report safety hazards and maintenance needs promptly
  • Keep cleaning carts organized; return unused supplies daily
  • Remain productive until the end of each shift; prepare cart for next day during final 15 minutes
  • Use personal phones only during breaks; refrain from using phones during work hours
  • Adhere to uniform standards: uniform top and pants, slip-resistant shoes, and ID badge
  • Perform other duties as assigned
