Position Overview:
Operators are responsible for running the operations of the separators within specified guidelines to ensure the production of high-quality output. This role requires maintaining quality and throughput standards, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to safety and food regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor separators to maintain quality and production efficiency.
- Accurately maintain records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Collect and process samples in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with the shift supervisor and lead person regarding operational status.
- Ensure quality meets established specifications.
- Adjust settings on computers and separators as required or instructed.
- Stay updated with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as equipment and processes evolve.
- Comply with all occupational safety and health standards, including OSHA regulations.
- Adhere to all applicable food safety regulations (Safe Quality Foods, FDA, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to operate or learn to operate separators and clarifiers.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Basic computer knowledge is helpful.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate necessary equipment.
- Excellent safety, attendance, and punctuality record.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
- Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Physical Requirements:· Ability to navigate all areas of the facility, including office spaces, warehouse areas, and the exterior perimeter.· Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary to safely perform job duties.· Ability to stand, sit, and carry out tasks throughout a full shift, with appropriate meal breaks.· Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and crouching as needed.· Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with reasonable accommodations.· Visual acuity sufficient to perform job duties accurately.· Capable of assessing weights, judging distances, and working at various heights.
Work Schedule:
Overnight-shift. Subject to change as production demand increases.
