An Assistant Terminal Manager, under the supervision of the Terminal Manager, is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the bus terminal. This position works with the Terminal Manager in coordinating all functions of the facility including the maintenance, dispatching, communicating with drivers, school district personnel and parents for daily routes, trips and extra curricular activities of students for our clients.
Location: 124 Victory Highway Painted Post, NY 14870
Full Time: Monday-Friday with possible evenings and weekend hours based on need
Pay Range: $26-$27 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Terminal Manager with the overall day-to-day operations of the facility.
- Ensure coverage of daily home to school routes, trips and charters.
- Assist with driver training and recruitment programs.
- Coordinate with Human Resources when conducting disciplinary actions of employees.
- Assist in maintenance of the driver credential files to ensure current certifications.
- Assist in preparing payroll, account receivables, account payables, and month end requirements to ensure timely submission to your respective location.
- Ensuring that each of your School Districts’ student transportation designees are being supplied with all required information and assist in providing a safe, reliable, on-time service through creating efficient and cost effective solutions to routing issues.
- Knowledge and implementation of contents of School District contracts and facility leases.
- Attend School Board meetings when directed by Terminal Manager or Other STA Management.
- Responsible for carrying out all STA policies and State & Federal applicable regulations.
- Ensuring all drivers and staff are equipped with all necessary job related training.
- Assist with planning of monthly driver safety meetings with safety and training designee for your area.
- Participate in the planning of yearly financial requirements for your respective facility.
- Assist in developing charter and school business for assets during non-school days and summer months.
- May, on occasion, be required to drive.
- All other duties as designated by Terminal Manager or STA Senior Management.
Required Skills/Abilities-Essential Functions:
- Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of operations.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize software applications
- People skills, creativity, rational analysis, and knowledge of the transportation industry
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Conduct oneself professionally and in a manner to reflect positively on STA.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
- Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations.
- Ability to evaluate and discipline drivers and enforce STA policy and procedure.
- Highly motivated and demonstrate capable leadership skills.
- Attend work on a regular and dependable basis; must be available to work in excess of 40 hours per week and be available in the evenings and on weekends as necessary to meet business needs.
- Ability to successfully pass all pre-employment screenings
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
- Ability to comply with all policies and procedures established by company
- This is a safety sensitive job and all duties are regulated by the DOT.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred or equivalent management experience.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in a management role in transportation, preferred, logistics or similar field
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License and DOT physical or must be able to attain within six (6) months of hire.
- Ability to safely lift heavy equipment (minimum of 50 lbs can be up to 100 pounds) frequently throughout the work day.
