About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our fast-paced accounting department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting within the exciting world of fashion and entertainment. You will be a key player in ensuring the financial health of our agency by managing the full cycle of our accounts receivable and billing processes.

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties related to accounts receivable. This includes processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding invoices. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong numerical skills and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with our talent agents to create, verify, and issue detailed invoices.
  • Process, post, and reconcile customer payments, including checks, credit card transactions, and ACH payments.
  • Proactively monitor accounts receivable and manage our collections process.
  • Maintain and update customer files and records.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client billing inquiries, maintaining positive and professional relationships.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding their account status and outstanding balances.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on the status of accounts receivable.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc accounting projects and administrative tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-player attitude.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, with a strong command of Google Sheets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong command of Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is highly desired but not required for a candidate who is a quick learner.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
  • Prior experience in an office or accounting environment is advantageous but not required.

At The Only Agency, we value in-person collaboration. This role is based out of our NYC office, and will require a presence in the Manhattan office 4-5 days a week. General working hours are 9:30AM-6:00 PM
