Position summary:

The Technology department is responsible for the Development, Realization and Implementation of the strategic Digital Product Roadmap for Rainforest Alliance (including all supporting Technology processes), for all Global Business Initiatives and Assurance programs.

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect be responsible for aligning the organization's IT strategy with its overall business goals. They will design and lead all aspects of the implementation of the enterprise's technology, ensuring it supports current and future business needs. ESA’s play a crucial role in guiding technology decisions, promoting standardization, and enabling digital transformation. In addition, ESA will also technically review a set of requirements/user stories and propose design and solutions, and support technology projects and programs of all types through every stage of development, from idea to design to completion. The primary role is to work closely with product managers and owners, delivery managers, business stakeholders, technology developers and designers on the end to end design, and ensure what ever the Solution Architects propose does not introduce technical debt.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that technology investments align with the organization's strategic objectives and business capabilities
  • Develop and maintain the overall enterprise architecture, including business, data, application, and technology components
  • Establish and implement architectural principles, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Provide architectural guidance, review designs, and ensure alignment to established standards
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to facilitate effective communication and decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology implementations, ensuring the organization's security and stability
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending solutions that can improve business performance and agility
  • Mentor other architects , fostering a culture of architectural excellence and knowledge sharing
  • Key interface between Product and Tech in providing solutions developed by internal teams and 3rd party suppliers
  • Reviews design changes within architecture boards on critical design decisions
  • Travel expected to other sites when required.


The person:

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, DevOps, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, SAFe for Architecture) and familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, and DevOps methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Highly detail-oriented professionals with strong leadership skills who know how to turn ideas into solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliverables, and stakeholders
  • Able to influence peers and management; strong stakeholder management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and verbal / written communication skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all sizes, and interact with all levels of the organisation
  • Self-starter; adaptable to change; motivated to set personal and program goals and proactively track performance against goals and initiatives objectives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.

Salary: For USA based candidates only:

  • National Salary range (Excluding NY and DC) - $81,647 - $116,579
  • New York Salary Range - $96,957 - $138,510
  • Washington DC Salary Range - $93,846 - $134,066
