Overview
The SAS Platform Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the SAS environment and its ETL workflows. This role focuses on platform maintenance, daily operational support, and rapid issue resolution to keep data pipelines running smoothly across a financial‑services environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer the SAS platform, including service restarts, health checks, patching, and hotfix application
- Monitor scheduled SAS ETL jobs, investigate failures, and ensure successful end‑to‑end data flow
- Perform BAU operational tasks such as updating connections, resolving minor SAS code issues, and managing user access
- Troubleshoot platform issues including service outages, metadata server problems, and resource bottlenecks
- Act as first responder for service recovery events (e.g., server restarts, password updates, job failures)
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to ensure stable and compliant operations
