Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and execute payroll operations for a growing organization based in New York, NY. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a deep understanding of multi-state payroll processes to ensure compliance and accuracy. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute significantly to the company’s payroll management and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
• Process semi-monthly salary payroll and bi-weekly hourly payroll efficiently using the organization's payroll system.
• Set up recurring payments and ensure international payroll operations are accurately recorded, including vesting-related entries.
• Collaborate with the parent company to align RSU tax recordings and reconcile discrepancies in withholdings.
• Address and resolve issues uncovered during 401k audits, including updating deferral information and coordinating with the 401k provider.
• Manage onboarding for new hires into the 401k system and ensure retirement reports are uploaded correctly.
• Handle end-of-year payroll transitions, including system updates and potential state-related unemployment and paid family leave adjustments.
• Oversee and respond to inquiries in the payroll inbox, providing guidance to employees and managing state correspondence effectively.
• Maintain compliance with payroll regulations for a multi-state workforce and ensure accuracy in reporting for over 500 employees.• Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll management with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and regulations.
• Experience managing payroll for organizations with over 500 employees.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
• Ability to reconcile payroll discrepancies and manage tax-related recordings.
• Familiarity with 401k administration, including audits and employee onboarding.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to address employee inquiries and coordinate with external providers.
• Demonstrated ability to handle transitions and system updates in a payroll environment.
