A cultural organization (Not for Profit) based in NYC is seeking a Director of Finance to join their team. The incumbent will be required to be in the office 4 days a week initially until they learn the position. The company will offer flexibility afterward, with the candidate required to be in the office as necessary, typically 1-2 times a week or when a Board meeting is taking place. Position Overview: The organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Finance to join our team. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the financial reporting process, managing day-to-day accounting operations, and providing strategic financial insights to support our mission and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervisory Role: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Financial Reporting: Manage the entire financial reporting process, including assisting with the preparation and submission of Form 990.

Day-to-Day Accounting: Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

FP&A: Develop and manage budgets at a cross-functional level, providing financial planning and analysis to support organizational goals.

Cash Management: Conduct liquidity analysis and manage cash flow to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.

Audit Support: Provide support to external auditors during the annual audit process.

Development Team Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to provide updates on both revenue and expenses.

Board Support: Assist the CEO with the preparation of board packages and attend board meetings.

System Savvy: Utilize Financial Edge and other financial systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in the non-profit sector (required).

Proven track record of managing financial reporting processes, including Form 990.

Experience in FP&A, including budget development at a cross-functional level.

Strong cash management skills, including liquidity analysis.

Excellent supervisory and team management abilities.

Experience supporting external audits and working with development teams.

Strong proficiency with Financial Edge and other financial systems.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $175,000.00 per year
