Position Overview
The Studio Manager is responsible for the daily leadership of our Creative Production team, overseeing a team of graphic designers and quality control specialists. This role ensures that all medical education and promotional materials are executed efficiently, accurately, and on brand. The Studio Manager is both a hands-on production expert and an operational leader who drives team performance, optimizes workflow, manages resourcing, and upholds the highest quality standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Role Requirements:
Brand and Studio Knowledge:
- Ensures adherence to the latest brand guidelines across all deliverables
- Builds strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Collaborates with Art and Copy teams to align creative vision and optimize production workflow
- Demonstrates deep knowledge of digital and print production, including file setup, typography, and layout
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat); familiarity with Adobe XD and Figma is a plus
Production & Execution
- Oversees and enforces internal studio standards including naming conventions, folder structures, and routing protocols
- Onboards and trains new and freelance talent on production processes and quality expectations
- Partners with Art Directors and Print Production to identify best practices for execution and file prep
- Develops schematics to support print production when needed
- Reviews all files for technical accuracy and brand compliance prior to final release
Time Management
- Oversees daily and long-term project workflows to meet deadlines and maintain team productivity
- Triages incoming requests, ensuring timely prioritization of urgent projects
- Collaborates with Creative Resource Manager to ensure proper allocation of staff and freelance resources
- Helps balance workload distribution and utilization within budget
Organization
- Maintains a structured and efficient server environment and educates the team on best practices
- Enforces version control, file-saving standards, and document archiving procedures
- Promotes team-wide compliance with operational standards
Problem Solving / Judgment
- Makes timely decisions, even in ambiguous or high-pressure situations
- Identifies production bottlenecks and proactively recommends effective solutions
- Provides critical support in resolving roadblocks that may impact workflow or delivery timelines
Preferred Qualifications
- 5–6+ years of experience in creative production or studio operations, preferably within advertising or healthcare communications
- Previous experience managing a team of graphic designers or production artists
- Expertise in digital and print production, with a strong understanding of cross-channel file requirements
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, and Adobe Experience Manager is helpful
- Familiarity with modular content systems and asset versioning workflows
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree required
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
