Credit Business Data Manager
Department: Credit
Overview of Role:
We are seeking a talented business data owner to join our fast-growing startup and play a key role in shaping and maintaining Climb’s Credit, Servicing, and Collections team. This individual will be responsible for developing and optimizing credit data models. This role serves as the strategic liaison between business lines and technology teams, ensuring data needs across the organization are understood, prioritized, and delivered effectively. This role owns and governs the business data layer, ensuring data assets are accurate, consistent, accessible, and aligned to business goals. The Business Data Owner will work cross-functionally with line-of-business (LOB) leaders, data engineers, and IT to design and maintain the data infrastructure that powers enterprise reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong Credit, Collections, Finance background. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analysis and manipulation, experience with analytical tools and technologies, and a proven ability to generate insights that lead to actionable recommendations for key stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Head of Credit.
Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Collaboration Engagement & Requirements Gathering:

Collaborate with lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise to identify data gaps, define data definitions, identify and resolve data quality issues, and resolve usability issues.

Communicate and translate technical concepts back and forth between non-technical and technical audiences effectively.

Data Infrastructure and Asset Development:

Partner with the enterprise data technology team to design and implement scalable data infrastructure and solutions that meet business needs.

Partner with the internal and external applications and source system data teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency and stability from source system to end user.

Work closely with IT to develop and maintain curated data assets that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational needs.

Lead the development, enhancement, and governance of a standardized business data layer that enables consistent analytics and reporting across LOBs.

Partner with technology data team to develop and control Power BI tables, data definitions, and semantic models to ensure accuracy and consistency of dashboards and underlying data elements.

Data Governance support

Maintain and govern the enterprise Data Dictionary, ensuring it is up to date, accurate, and easily accessible to data consumers across the business.

Partner with Cybersecurity team to ensure data encryption along with limiting surface area to reduce exposure to Cyber attacks

Partner with data team to ensure roles groups are appropriately established that resolve business need will addressing PII and NPI requirements.

Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in data modeling techniques, and regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience:

Need to have:
-
3+ years of experience in financial services in an analytical or quantitative role

3+ years of experience in credit risk or financial
-
3+years of experience with data mining and structure. Experience with relational databases and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R or similar applications

Strong knowledge of analytical methodologies and problem solving skills

Attention to detail and numbers with a big picture view to quickly grasp and understand complex problems, impacts and concepts

Data: Strong SQL query skills & object oriented programming language (i.e. Python,C#,)

Microsoft or Google Office Suite (xls skills a must)
