Job Title: Staffing Specialist
Location: Long Island City, NY

Pay: $25 – $28 / Hour (based on experience)

Our client is a well-established facilities support organization that provides cleaning, maintenance, and operational staff to commercial and institutional environments. Their teams support large office buildings, schools, healthcare sites, and corporate facilities to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.
Job Description:
The Staffing Specialist will support full-cycle staffing and onboarding for operational personnel. This includes scheduling interviews, extending offers, conducting orientations, and ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards. This role works onsite within a collaborative HR/Recruitment department and requires strong communication and attention to detail. Bilingual communication skills in Spanish are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly, union, and field staff positions
- Coordinate interview scheduling based on department staffing needs
- Conduct interviews and assist with hiring recommendations and offer steps
- Lead onboarding and new hire orientation, reviewing company policies and job expectations
- Ensure background checks and hiring documentation meet compliance requirements
- Maintain and update employee information in HRIS and time/attendance tracking systems
- Monitor and track union enrollments, dues, and employment status changes
- Collaborate with payroll to resolve employee pay-related inquiries
- Provide courteous support to the department main phone line when needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business preferred
- 3+ years of administrative experience, preferably in HR, recruiting, or staffing
- Bilingual in Spanish (Required)
- Proficient with HR systems and applicant tracking tools
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm
- Assignment Length: 2 - 3 months
- Team Size: 5-person HR/Staffing team
