Location: Suffolk County, NY
Program: Residential Services

Hope For Youth is seeking a passionate Program Director to lead our Runaway and Homeless Youth Services (RHYS) team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth and families across Long Island through community-based, trauma-informed, youth and family-centered care.

As Program Director, you will oversee our Youth Crisis Shelter, Basic Center Program, and Transitional Housing/Rapid Re-Housing (TH-RRH) programs. You'll play a key role in preventing youth homelessness by providing housing options, case management, and aftercare support through a housing-first approach.

What You'll Do:

✔ Provide overall management of RHYS programs, ensuring quality care and compliance
✔ Lead, mentor, and support case managers, interns, and program staff
✔ Foster strong partnerships with community groups, coalitions, and government agencies
✔ Oversee documentation, reporting, and program development
✔ Deliver crisis intervention and counseling when needed
✔ Ensure adherence to agency policies, state regulations, and funding requirements
✔ Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support

What We're Looking For:

✅ LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC
✅ NYS driver's license in good standing
✅ Ability to provide 24/7 on-call availability

  1. Additionally, you must be able to:
  • Operate a motor vehicle carrying up to ten (10) children and youth
  • Lift/move up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Escort children and youth into the community using stairs when necessary
  • Physically restrain a child or youth during a crisis situation
  • Read/write reports and log entries
  • Support other projects and locations, as needed
  • Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work
