About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our team working across hospital sites throughout New York City. In this on-site role, the HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and managers, supporting employee relations, HR training, talent advising, and key coordination with hospital HR teams.

This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a strong understanding of hourly workforce needs, and is committed to employee engagement, performance excellence, and collaborative partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee support & relations
    1. Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and policy clarifications
    2. Lead or support investigations and resolution of employee relations issues, in partnership with the broader HR team
    3. Coach managers on handling performance, conduct, and attendance matters fairly and in alignment with company policies
  • Talent & workforce planning
  1. Advise managers on staffing and workforce planning needs, including promotions, internal mobility, and job design
  2. Partner with recruiting team to align on hiring needs, salary recommendations, and offers
  3. Provide guidance on internal and external equity, leveling, and career pathing
  • HR training & policy education
  1. Deliver on-site HR training for new managers and frontline staff on key topics such as performance management, workplace conduct, and company values
  2. Reinforce and communicate HR policies and processes in a clear and accessible manner
  • Hospital liaison & clearance coordination
  1. Act as the primary HR contact for hospital HR departments, helping ensure smooth onboarding and clearance processes for new hires
  2. Support documentation and compliance requirements specific to hospital settings (e.g., credentialing, vaccination, background checks)
  • Additional HRBP responsibilities
  1. Analyze and use HR data to inform decisions, spot trends, and advise business leaders
  2. Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies
  3. Partner with wider HR team on benefits, leave management, and compliance
  4. Participate in broader HR projects and initiatives that impact the field-based workforce

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience, including direct support of hourly employees
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR practices applicable to the NYC market
  • Experience coaching managers and conducting employee relations investigations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and travel regularly across hospital locations in NYC
  • Comfort working in healthcare or similarly regulated environments is a plus

    • Pay range, depending on experience, is 90,000 – 105,000 base salary, plus annual performance bonus eligibility
