Job Highlights
The Dispatcher is an integral part of the team, and the key point of contact for both Drivers and customers throughout the day.
The Dispatcher is responsible for setting up crew sheets for commercial routes and notify employees of their schedule each day. In addition, the Dispatcher fields phone calls from Customer Service and directly from customers, and dispatch Drivers to additional service calls throughout the day as needed. Interstate Waste Services utilizes a state of the art onboard fleet management software – Routeware – and the Dispatcher is responsible for reviewing information submitted from the Driver through this system.
Additional Responsibilities

<li>Ensure compliance with safety policies and protocols as well as federal, state, and local regulations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs.</li>

<li>Initiate outbound calls to customers while Drivers are onsite to resolve pick-up and other service issues.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Using RouteWare tablets to communicate with on the field team members.</li>
<li>Coordinating with route supervisors, customer service, maintenance, or sales to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment.</li>
<li>Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, inventory records and other information.</li>
<li>Assuring that all customer locations are geo coded accurately in Tower/RouteWare.</li>
<li>Entering daily productivity into Tower (i.e., tons, miles, hours of service, etc.)</li>

Interstate Waste Services is one of the largest and fastest growing private sanitation companies in the country! We currently service customers in Connecticut, Southern New York State, New York City, New Jersey, and recently expanded our operations of transfer stations into Pennsylvania and Ohio, where we have also acquired a landfill. We are looking for an experienced Lead Dispatcher to take on the responsibility of live dispatching a group of 20-25 drivers transporting containers of municipal and commercial waste between our local Transfer Stations and our rail yards in northern and central New Jersey.
Job Highlights
The Dispatcher will utilize our fleet management software and other operating applications to monitor volumes at each Transfer Station and progress of each Driver. The Lead Dispatcher will notify Drivers of their scheduled routes, and make real-time routing change as needed. The Lead Dispatcher must keep an open line of communication with each Transfer Station Manager as well as the Rail Fleet Manager. The Lead Dispatcher is also responsible for promoting and monitoring employee safety and take proactive steps to identify, evaluate and remove safety hazards.
This is a new role, and the successful candidate must have experience managing both themselves and others. The Lead Dispatcher is a self-directed role, and will be responsible for establishing and documenting procedures for live dispatching.

Our Yellow Iron Diesel Technicians/Mechanics perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment, primarily including yellow iron machinery, diesel heavy trucks and engines. The Technician or Mechanic is not only responsible for understanding maintenance and breakdown needs and initiating/ assigning necessary repairs, but also must be able to operate the machinery being repaired. At times, the Technician may be on call and required to assist with emergency breakdowns.

<li>Computer diagnostic experience as diesel technician a plus.</li>
<li>Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar. </li>
<li>Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations. </li>
<li>Must be able to speak and read English well enough to converse with colleagues, drivers and dispatch, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records. </li>

<li>We are continuously investing in equipment, and many of our trucks are less than 2 years old. </li>

<li>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.</li>
<li>The Yellow Iron Diesel Technician/Mechanic may be required to lift upwards to 50 pounds. Frequent squatting and standing are required. </li>
