New York University School of Law seeks applicants to join our dynamic clinical teaching community as a two-year clinical teaching fellowship. This Fellowship commences during the summer of 2025 and ends during the summer of 2027. It is designed for lawyers with at least three years of practice who are considering a career in law school teaching. The fellow will work with the Community Equity Lab, which works with communities and community-based institutions to build a community-centered vision of justice, and the tools necessary to achieve it, through litigation and advocacy, and the Immigrant Rights Clinic, which engages in direct legal representation of immigrants and community organizations in litigation and in immigrant rights campaigns. Responsibilities include (i) supervising law students in related matters and serving as a mentor and role model to law students in the clinic and lab; (ii) helping to design and teach clinic seminar classes; (iii) sharing in the administrative responsibilities of the courses; and (iv) working on independent advocacy initiatives.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team and must possess strong written and oral communication skills.&nbsp;Applicants should also have a commitment to working collaboratively with law students.
In compliance with New York City's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $110,000.

<h3>Qualifications</h3>
The successful fellowship candidate will have:

<li>Experience litigating or advocating on behalf of immigrants, people of color, or members of other marginalized communities;</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of post-J.D. legal experience;</li>
<li>Membership in the New York Bar; and</li>
<li>An interest in clinical teaching.</li>

CLINICAL TEACHING FELLOWSHIP

The Sovereignty Project Clinical Fellow is a two-year position designed for lawyers with experience in American Indian law or other relevant experience who are interested in preparing for a career in federal Indian law practice or Indian law clinical teaching. The Clinical Fellow will coordinate the activities of the NYU-Yale Sovereignty Project and will be based at NYU School of Law in Greenwich Village, NY.
Under the supervision of the Sovereignty Project’s faculty directors and in concert with the Yale Research Fellow, the Clinical Fellow will co-supervise work on the Native Briefing Project and coordinate with Center partners, including the Native American Rights Fund’s Tribal Supreme Court Project, the National Congress of American Indians, and the Supreme Court Practice at Jenner &amp; Block. The Native Briefing Project submits amicus briefs in the federal circuit courts and the Supreme Court, as well as provides expert advice for litigators and organizations nationwide.
The Fellow will participate in the planning and coordination of the Sovereignty Project, including the development of courses and curriculum and the selection of cases for tracking and briefing. Fellow may have the opportunity to teach or co-teach a course.
