2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27-bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment. 
We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. &nbsp;The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit.

SUMMARY: As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide high quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the nursing team. Your ability to take initiative while always assisting and maintaining patient care will be critical in the success of the entire team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Patient Care &amp; Service - Provide and/or assist the resident in activities necessary as per individualized care planning; transport to and from activities as needed; provide leisure activities as needed; perform evaluation and reporting; provide resident and family with emotional support
· Safety - Assist in maintaining a clean and safe resident environment
· Communication &amp; Documentation - Support families, direct them to appropriate professional staff; respond to resident requests in a timely manner; receive/give reports to team members/team leader
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Currently certified in New York State as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Strong customer service and communication skills preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
