 The Staten Island Connected Care CCBHC is comprised of several community-based programs providing direct care to over 1500 clients annually, both on-site and in the community. The Learning Specialist 1, under the direction of the Senior Learning Specialist, will provide change management support, training, and consultation to staff working with people with mental health, substance use, psychosocial and intellectual/developmental challenges in community-based, day, residential, and child welfare systems of care. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Learning Specialist 1 (LS1), with the Learning Department team, will help the agency to plan and implement changes in policy, procedures, and practice, and will support the agency in implementation and integration of mission and strategic plan. The LS1 will curate external training resources, develop customized training materials, and execute plans for sustaining practice and evaluating training. The LS1 will also participate in all Learning Department endeavors.

<li>Training and Development: Research, assess, and curate external training resources; create and deliver introductory and advanced training packages in areas such as family engagement, trauma-informed care, and culturally affirming care; deliver evidence-based training in intervention areas like Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). </li>

<li>Educational and Training Requirements: Bachelor's or master’s in psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred; minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; demonstrated evidence of excellent training skills and experience in evidence-based practice; knowledge and skills in cultural competency training required. </li>
<li>Experience and Language Preference: Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience; supervisory and training experience in behavioral health interventions is a plus; fluency in Spanish is useful. </li>
</ul>
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s and/or Master’s, in psychology, Social Work or a related field preferred with a minimum of 2 years of relatable work experience OR High School Degree with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a not-for-profit setting </li>
<li>Demonstrated evidence of excellent training skills </li>
<li>Experience in evidence-based practice with at least one treatment. Supervisory and training experience in above interventions a plus. </li>
<li>Availability to work during set Jewish Board training times and travel to training sites necessary, along with capacity to train within The Jewish Board standards </li>
<li>Knowledge and skills in the area of cultural competency training is required </li>
<li>Strong verbal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels of the agency </li>
<li>Organized with an ability to work independently to complete projects </li>
<li>Excellent listening and problem-solving skills </li>
<li>Skilled decision-maker and project manager that works proactively in an outcome-focused environment </li>
</ul>

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERRED:
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience is required </li>
<li>Two years in the supervision of behavioral health staff or project management preferred </li>
<li>License to practice preferred </li>
<li>Fluency in Spanish is useful </li>
</ul>
COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:

<li>Excellent skills with relevant software and technology including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word </li>

WORK ENVIRONE/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
