Senior Substance Use Specialist - ACT Team

Job Description

A nonprofit organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Senior Substance Use Specialist to join their growing team.

About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Ongoing
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm
• Setting: Field

Responsibilities:

• Provide client-centered care using evidence-based approaches for substance use and co-occurring disorders
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized service plans, and monitor progress
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including individual and group counseling as needed
• Support staff in integrating recovery-focused and trauma-informed care into practice.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment models and service enhancements.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Participate in internal case reviews, team meetings, and quality assurance initiatives
• Support program evaluation through data collection and outcome tracking
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure program operations meet all contractual and regulatory requirements
• Participate in field-based service delivery and crisis intervention as needed
• Coordinate care with external service providers, housing agencies, and medical/mental health professionals
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• MSW or Masters in related field
• Experience working on an ACT team
