Location: Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Ulster

Shift: Full-Time

Position Overview:
As our ESL Coordinator, you will play a vital role in helping Spanish-speaking participants learn English and transition into meaningful healthcare careers such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for education, language development, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver customized English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons with a focus on healthcare vocabulary and workplace communication.

• Collaborate with training partners and local schools to align language instruction with healthcare certification programs.

• Conduct intake assessments, monitor student progress, and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

• Provide coaching, career pathway guidance, and motivational support to program participants.

• Assist participants in preparing for interviews, clinical experiences, and professional certifications.

• Create a welcoming, supportive learning environment that respects and uplifts diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications:

• ESL Certification (TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent) preferred not required

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).

• Strong interest in healthcare workforce development a plus.

• Compassionate, patient, and able to motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong organizational, communication, and mentorship skills.

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday

• Some flexibility for evening sessions based on participant needs
